It may not be as scary as it’s catered to children, but it’s still considered a haunted house.

Wakeboarding is an exciting sport where you are pulled behind a boat while standing on a wakeboard.

Go Spelunking

Spelunking is an entirely new way to explore a cave. 

You are no longer going on a tour and walking in the safe, designated areas with a guide (although some businesses allow you to go Spelunking with a guide).

Spelunking is the sport of exploring a cave by walking, crawling, and sometimes swimming through water passages inside caves. 

However, that is only sometimes the case. If you want to go Spelunking, go with someone; it can be dangerous. There are Spelunking Organizations all throughout Missouri that you can join.

Bike the Entire Katy Trail

The Katy Trail is 240 miles that connect Menchens to Clinton. 

Essentially, connecting Saint Louis to Kansas City when you bike the entire trail. 

If you plan to bike the whole route, you should schedule food stops, hotels, and any other needs you may have along the path. 

However, it has been known that individuals have biked the entire course in one day, although this is uncommon.

Go on a Float Trip

Float Trips are a great way to spend the day on the river with friends and family, drinking, singing, and swimming. 

The great thing about Missouri is the many rivers running through, allowing for great floating destinations. 

You have the Big Piney River, Big River, Black River, Current River, Eleven Point River, and Elk River. 

These are just a few rivers that run through Missouri, allowing you to experience different rivers, scenic views, and currents.

Go to a Drive-In Theater

Drive-in Theaters define summertime. Stuffing your car with pillows and blankets to take to the drive-in theater. 

Upon arrival, you choose a spot in front of the massive screen while hearing tires roll through the gravel as other cars pull up around you.

Once the movie starts to play, you hear the synchronized sound of the film coming from all the cars around you. 

You are cuddled up in your favorite blanket, eating snacks from the concession stands. It’s the perfect way to spend a summer evening.

Go Indoor Skydiving

Indoor Skydiving is a wind tunnel powered by multiple industrial fans allowing you to gravitate in the air. 

There are several reasons to check out indoor Skydiving. 

For one, it is a great way to get an idea of what it would feel like to freefall from the sky. Another reason is that it’s safer than jumping out of a plane! 

Lastly, you can use Indoor Skydiving as a stepping stone to Skydiving. 

Getting used to the idea by trying a safer, more controlled module before stepping on the ledge of a plane to jump.

Go for Tandem Bike Ride

Going for a Tandem Bike Ride is a great way to spend the day outdoors. 

Rather you are going with a friend or your significant other, you are definitely in for a treat. There are a couple of places where you can rent a Tandem Bike if you don’t already own one.

Complete a Wine Trail

Missouri offers several different wine trails. So if you are of age, this is a must-do activity to check off your bucket list. 

Wine trails can be visited in a day or split into multiple days, depending on the number of wineries on the course. 

Visiting a wine trail is a great way to spend the day/weekend with your significant other or friends. If you visit the wine trails, make sure you have a designated driver!

Go Ziplining

Ziplining Courses are around every corner (at least it feels that way), making it easy to find a location to check ziplining off your bucket list. 

There are several different types of ziplining. 

You can go on a singular line that allows you to zip only one time, generally from the top of a tall building or hill to the bottom. 

Then you have Zipline Courses that enable you to go on multiple zip lines. Depending on the course, you may cross a swinging bridge or log, making it even more exciting.

Go Prasailing

Parasailing is often something you see when you visit a touristy beach. 

However, Missouri offers Parasailing at the Lake of the Ozarks. 

It allows you to check this off your Bucket List without getting a plane ticket and flying to the beach.

Just in case you don’t know what Parasailing is, it’s a kiting activity where an individual is tied to a boat and attached to a canopy. 

Therefore, allowing the individual to glide smoothly through the air.

Take a Boat Ride in an Old Mine

It’s not very often you can say you took a Boat Ride in the middle of a man-made cave that was once a mine. 

At Bonne Terre Mine, you can go on a boat tour inside the man-made cave!

Take a Tram Ride Through a Cave

Missouri is one of the only places you can tour a cave while riding on a jeep-drawn tram. It is a unique and relaxing way to see the Fantastic Caverns. 

The tour lasts approximately 55 minutes. 

The cave is open year-round, with a temperature of about 60 degrees. 

Even if visit during the middle of summer, or while it’s snowing outside, you can be assured the cave’s temperature will stay the same.

Go Horseback Riding

Horseback Riding is a fun way to explore the great outdoors! Horseback Riding can last approximately 1 hour to 4 hours depending on the venue you choose to go

Horseback Riding and the allocated time you choose (if various times are an option). 

There are several places you can go horseback riding in Missouri, such as Trout Lodge and Saddle Creek Horses.

Go Cliff Jumping

Wanna get your adrenaline pumping? 

Then you may be interested in Cliff Jumping. 

One of the most popular places to go cliff jumping is Fugitive Beach, located in Rolla, Missouri.

Ride a Mechanical Bull

Riding a Mechanical Bull is a great way to feel what it is like to ride a bull without riding the real thing. 

Mechanical Bulls can be found in Kansas and Saint Louis PBR locations. 

PBR is a cowboy-themed bar with a Mechanical Bull for guests to ride on.

Tour a Cave

Caves are a fascinating underground system that is all over Missouri. 

There are several different caves you can tour throughout Missouri. 

Caves you can tour includes Mark Twain Cave, Meramec Cave, and Talking Rock Caverns. These are just a few of the many caves you can tour.

Ride a Gondola

You no longer have to vacation in Venetian to ride in a Gondola. 

Now in Kansas City, Missouri, Ambiance on the Water offers romantic Gondola tours throughout the downtown Plaza. 

Allowing for a romantic night with the one you love.

Visit a Sunflower Field

Sunflower fields are taking the nation by storm. 

Therefore, allowing more farmers to open their Sunflower fields to the public so you can get the perfect selfie. 

One of the most popular sunflower fields in Missouri is the Columbia Bottom Conservation Area. 

Please note sunflowers are only in full bloom a few weeks of the year, so plan accordingly.

Go Skiing

Skiing is a great sport that should be enjoyed at least once. 

Luckily, even without mountains and tons of snow, we can still enjoy skiing. 

In Missouri, we have Snow Creek Ski Area in Weston, Missouri, and Hidden Valley Ski Resort in Eureka, Missouri.

Go Snowboarding

Another tremendous outdoor sport featured at the Snow Creek Ski Area and Hidden Valley Ski Resort is snowboarding. 

So if you want to get out of the house during winter, then hitting the slopes may be just what you need.

Go Winter Tubing

There is nothing like flying down a hill at full speed! If you are into winter tubing, you must check out Snow Creek Ski Area and Hidden Valley Ski Resort.

Go on a Ghost Tour

Ghost Tours are a great way to learn about a way of life during a specific period. 

Therefore, allowing Ghost Tours to double as a history lesson. Ghost Tours are offered in St Louis, Kansas City, Jefferson City, and Branson.

Taking the nation by storm is Escape Room. Can you escape in time with the clues given? 

Escape Rooms are a great way to test your knowledge while working as a team to escape.

Ax Throwing is one of the hottest trends in America right now. It’s a relatively straightforward concept; just throw an ax at a target to hit the bullseye.

A Shooting Range is a great way to learn how to fire a gun in a safe environment while practicing your aim. 

Shooting ranges are located all over Missouri, and you can choose between an indoor shooting range and an outdoor one.

Located in Jefferson, Missouri, is the Missouri State Penitentiary. They offer various tours, such as history, paranormal, or photography tours.

Go Sailing

If you are interested in trying sailing but do not own a boat, you are in luck. Trout Lodge in Potosi, Missouri, offers sailboat rentals with daily admission.

Go Kayaking

Kayaking is a popular summertime boating activity. 

You can go kayaking down rivers or lakes. In fact, many lakes and rivers offer kayak rentals for a small fee. 

If you have never gone kayaking, add it to your bucket list. It’s a great way to get out on the water for a fun day under the sun.

Go on a Stand Up Paddle Board

Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Board is another water activity that offers great fun. 

SUP rentals are provided at Creve Coeur Lake Rentals and Kayak Branson.

Take a Ferry Ride

Ferry Rides are so much fun, especially if you have never been on one. 

You have the Golden Eagle Ferry in Saint Charles, Missouri, that takes you to Calhoun County, Illinois. 

Then you have the Ste. Gen-Modoc Ferry that takes you from Ste. Genevieve to Modoc Illinois. 

Another ferry ride you can is the Dorena-Hickman Ferry that takes you from Dorena, Missouri, to Hickman, Kentucky, and back.

Hike the Tallest Point in Missouri

You can hike the tallest point in Missouri at Taum Sauk Mountain. 

Taum Sauk Mountain reaches 1,772 feet in the air! 

While at Taum Sauk Mountain, check out the nearby attractions, which include Elephant Rock State Park and Johnson Shut-ins.

Go Mountain Biking

Another great outdoor activity is Mountain Biking. Hitting the rugged trails and seeing the great outdoors while getting a workout.

Go Backpacking

Going Backpacking is another excellent adventure that you can partake in Missouri. In fact, several parks offer Backpacking. 

This includes Big Piney Trail at Paddy Creek Wilderness. This trail is 16.1 miles long and is considered a moderate hike.

Another Backpacking trail is Berryman Trail at Mark Twain National Forest. This trail is 27.1 miles long and is regarded as a moderate hike.

One of the longer trails in the Ozark Trail at Huzzah State Wildlife Management Area is approximately 47 miles long and considered moderate.

Run in a 5K Race

The great thing about running in a 5K is that there are always different theme races that make it fun. 

You have the Color Run, Glo Run, and holiday-themed races. 5K races are great for getting you motivated to work out.

Play a Round of Golf

If you haven’t been, then you should play a round of golf at least once. 

If it’s your first time playing, then make sure to stop by the driving range to practice hitting the balls a few times, which leads us to our next bucket list activity.

Go to a Driving Range

A driving range is a great way to practice hitting golf balls before playing a round of golf. Making it perfect if it has been a while since you last played or you just want to get a refresher before hitting the greens.

Attend a Yoga Class

Yoga is the perfect way to reduce anxiety while achieving peace and balance. 

Yoga classes are offered throughout Missouri, allowing you to attend a class regardless of where you live. 

There are different types of Yoga classes, from Hot Yoga (temperatures in the room over 100 degrees), Goat Yoga to Power Yoga.

Local bars tend to have Karaoke night, allowing you to belch out your favorite songs to an audience.
